The Kelag Social Support Program

Is my electricity tariff right for me? How can I identify energy-efficient appliances? How can I cut my electricity use — and my bills? Kelag offers personalized energy consultations. Once your contact details are shared by a social welfare partner, a Kelag consultant will get in touch promptly to arrange an in-home visit. If needed, replacing an inefficient appliance may be recommended. Each household is eligible for an in-home energy consultation once every three years. Are your old appliances consuming too much energy, but you can't afford new ones? We offer in-home advice as part of our social energy consultation program and support you together with our partners — financially and technically — with replacing inefficient appliances. Kelag finances appliances that meet basic household needs, including: refrigerators, fridge-freezer combinations, freezers, electric stove sets, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers, and washer-dryers.

Are you facing financial hardship and unable to pay an outstanding Kelag energy bill? We're here to help. To qualify, you must have an active energy supply contract with Kelag at the time of application. This assistance can be applied for once per calendar year through a social welfare partner on your behalf.

Do you heat your home with electricity (electric heating or a heat pump)?
The electricity heating cost subsidy is up to €400 and will be credited to your next annual electricity bill. The subsidy is capped at the actual energy costs incurred during the billing period — no credit above that amount is possible. Applications can be submitted once per billing period. To apply through one of the four social welfare partners, you will need the following documents:

• Proof of residence
• Proof of income — Eligible applicants are customers with a monthly net income below € 1,787 (Reference budgets)
