and integrity and dignity, including the prevention of work-
related health hazards as well as the provision of a suitable
organisation, are taken. Measures for establishing universal
safety standards within the Group were pursued further in
2017. The culture of safety was promoted further through
activities such as workshops and seminars. The focus was
not only placed on accident statistics, but also primarily on
increasing the safety awareness of every single employee.

Each year, KELAG’s safety officer prepares a report on work-
related accidents classifying all accidents within the Group
according to the cause of the accident, the severity of the
injury and days of absence. The company’s target for 2018
has already been exceeded and an improvement of 17% in
the accident statistics has been achieved to date in
comparison with 2015.
